Update - The Food Hub continues to grow
Published on June 21, 2020 by Tom

Hi,

We'd like to start by saying thank you to all those people who have donated so far, the Food Hub is supporting around 86 people every week which is making a huge impact in Barnet.

The UK Mutual Aid team who help deliver the parcels from the Food Hub (amongst lots of other things in Barnet) have been working incredibly hard and we'd like to share some updates with you.

We've got badges!

Firstly, we'd like to thank Best Badges (https://www.bestbadges.co.uk/) and E-badges (https://www.e-badges.net/) for their wonderful donation which allows all of our volunteers to be easily identified.

Check out our events

How can you help?

As demand for the Food Hub increases, we want to meet that demand. The pandemic has been going for a long time but now it's equally as important as ever to support our community. But, in order to do that, we're going to need to work together. Here are some ways you can help:

1) Share our social media posts

This one is easy! Even if you can't donate, you might know someone who can. UK Mutual Aid is posting lots of helpful things on social media including information about the Food Hub, sharing our posts on social media with your friendship circles as much as possible raises awareness of what we're doing.

2) Donate food and toiletries.

We can take donations of food and toiletries on Saturdays between 12 and 2pm

58A Claremont Road

NW2 1BU

3) Donate money

There are lots of things that aren't donated very often like sanitary products or fresh fruit and veg but these are still essential items. This means we have to buy them and our OpenCollective page is the only way we currently have to get money. Your donation will go directly back into the community in Barnet to ensure the people we support do not go hungry.

4) Stay in touch

As our operations grow we're going to be posting more updates on our OpenCollective page so look out for more information. If you think you have a way to help get in touch with us at [email protected]

The support you give directly impacts the lives of people living in Barnet so on behalf of all of us, we'd like to say thank you.
