About

Cherwell Larder was founded as an emergency parcel service, supported by SOFEA, and Oxford Food Bank.. Kidlington Parish Council has offered long term use of Exeter Hall to establish this as a resource for the community. Our partners include Harvest @ Home, Good Food Oxford, Crawford's Fruit and Veg, Oxford Mutual Aid, Shipton HUB, Cherwell Volunteer Fleet, North Oxford Food Bank, Yarnton HUB, Begbroke Mutual Aid, Heyford Larder, and Bicester Mutual Aid.

The Cherwell Larder is primarily a food parcel service for residents of South Cherwell: Kidlington, Yarnton, Begbroke, Bicester, Bletchingdon, Weston on the Green, Ambrosden, Tackley, Islip, Kirtlington, and surrounding areas. Parcels are not intended to cover all meals, just to help fill gaps.

We help people in financial need, but one in three of our users is passionate about reducing food waste. We use food surplus and local, seasonal produce through our partnerships. We also provide guidance to help build confidence in cooking. We build meal kits using our surplus items and creative cooking flexible recipes to help people reach zero waste goals. We are designing a curriculum to offer demonstrations and courses to
