What happened in April?
Published on May 2, 2023 by Lucie Anglade
Hi!
This month of April started with a nice meeting with the paged.js team 💖. We went to the Journées du Logiciel Libre (Open Source Software Days) in Lyon, France, where we gave a talk and animated a workshop about the history of CSS for print.
The talk has been recorded, we’ll share you the video when it’s released!
Related to this topic, we wrote an article on our blog to present CSS for print, why to use that and how it’s not so different from CSS for the web 🧐.
Also this month, two versions have been released 🎉.
First, cairocffi v1.5.1 which is built with XCB support back.
And second, WeasyPrint v59.0b1. With this new version, WeasyPrint is now able to generate smaller PDFs. Options have been added to generate compressed PDFs, choose the DPI resolution of images and manage the JPEG quality!
This release is a beta, so don’t hesitate to give it a try and report bugs you may found 🐛.
If you want to know more about this new beta, you can read our article 🗞️.
These new features have been added thanks to the financial support of Code & Co. 💝.
That’s all for this month!
Thanks for supporting us 💜
