Add financial host details to Github sponsors

Github Sponsors allows us to receive donations directly on Github. Would it be possible to contact Github to add Open Collective Europe as one of the fiscal hosts? The Open Collective Foundation is already available as one of the fiscal hosts for example.

Right now we can manually add a fiscal host, but it asks us for the country where the host is based, and I don't know 😅

Belgium. It should be possible to select open collective europe. Let me know if its not the case.

I have selected Open Collective Europe as fiscal host, but github still asks me to create a stripe connect account.  Shouldn't that use the account of OpenCollective Europe?   Is there somewhere a step-by-step guide how to correctly setup github sponsors with Open Collective Europe as fiscal host? Thanks!

Hi Harald,

We have everything documented here. Please lmk if something is still blocking you after reading this. You can reach out to me directly on the Open Collective Slack (@JF).

Hi Jean-Francois,
thanks for your feedback.  Unfortuantely the forms on the github page are looking completely different than in your guide.  They confirm Open collective Europe is selected as fiscal host, but still require me to create a "stripe connect" account indicating banking details (those should be those of Open Collective Europe, right?) and in addition provide tax related forms.  There's no way how I can proceed in the UI without those steps.

I thought the point of using OpenCollective Europe as a fiscal host is that the banking details and tax information of that fiscal host is used?

I am not using slack, as it's a proprietary service. I can be reached by e-mail jabber/xmpp, IRC or rocketchat.  I can provide you with screenshots of the github UI, if it helps.

Thanks!

Hi Harald,

I am not able to reproduce the GH behavior you're getting. Can you jump in a call with me to reproduce it? Please send me an email to [email protected] to arrange this.

Thank you

FWIW, I was now able to set this up just by selecting "Open Collective Europe". Github didn't ask me for anything else, so perhaps there is something weird going on in your case.

Thanks, Jean-Francois.  github indeed did something "magic" on their backend and I could now submitt the github sponsors request as expected, without the previously mandatory banking/tax details. Thanks for your help!
