Don't worry, your Open Collective pledges will still continue as normal. We are just making you aware that this is another donation option that we are starting to share with the community. All the donations we receive on Github Sponsors will go directly to our existing Open Collective campaign, but with the added benefit that Github will match your contribution for the first year.

Sharing our donations with upstream

As part of our pledge to "contribute back" some of our donations to the GNU Image Manipulation Program, we will be donating $100 US to their project in April 2020.

That will bring the running total amount up to $150 US, which is (with the current number of pledges) roughly the equivalent of three month's worth of donations. The $100 we're adding will be taken from the $600 we currently have in our Open Collective account, and will not harm our long term financial viability.

Thank you!

We are well aware that our project could never have gotten off the ground without your pledges, and your support is truly humbling. Currently we're using your money to replace the development server we provisioned in haste last August with much bigger, more robust servers that are already running website/wiki software and a Flatpak development repository. In coming months they will run Jenkins and Docker for automated/reproducible builds, Weblate for translations, Gitea for code backup, an update mechanism for all desktop platforms, and artefactory software for our development builds.

Our project continues to go from strength to strength, and in the next week or two we'll be releasing 0.1.4 a few weeks early. We'll elaborate more on those plans in an upcoming blog post.

Kind Regards,

Bobby Moss (creator of Glimpse Image Editor) and the rest of the Glimpse project governance team.
