There were a couple of major changes in November. So lets go over them.
So what's new?
New Front page! As you can see we now have a new front page. It is called the "portal". The portal is just a more efficient way to quickly access the latest threads of the forum. The topics are sorted by the latest created to the oldest. Note: that it is not sorted by the posts.
New Chatroom! The other major feature is the chatroom. I integrated Liberia chat application to serve as a more casual space for Ifa/Orisha discussions. Libera is an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) application. If you are unfamiliar, read "How to use?" on the chatroom page: Chatroom. That being said there is still more work to be done for the chatroom to function as intended. The feature will be more developed over time.
On top of the chatroom feature. I have successfully bridged communication between our forum and the Ẹgbẹ́ Ọmọ Odùduwà discord server. So now discussion on Ẹgbẹ́ Ọmọ Odùduwà orisha channel will appear in the chatroom and vice versa.
Occasionally our site may be closed due to maintenance. Don't worry. Most cases we will be back online soon. I will try my best to let you know if we will be in maintenance for an extended time.
This month I had time to really add a lot to our site. There may be some rough edges but they will smooth overtime. The month of December will be very busy for me. As I am expecting to relocate to a different town. As usual I will be trying my best as a lone developer to drive and maintain our forum. It was difficult figuring out which chat server to choose from. Internet Relay Chat is free and relatively simple compared to the other options. There is a lot more that can be done quicker. But lack of enough funding to hire artists and such put a hamper on things.
