First Resource Center of 2022 was a Success!
Published on March 8, 2022 by Brett

Hello friends!

After making the difficult decision to cancel our January resource center date due to a surge of covid-19 cases, we were back in action in February with one of our most popular resource centers to date. On February 19th, we connected over 75 guests with vital resources and services like showers, groceries, medical check-ups, food stamp applications, hot meals, case management, and more! We even completely depleted our entire clothing supply (which was a lot!!). This resource center was held at our new location, St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Mar Vista, who graciously opened their doors to us. Our feedback from our guests and volunteers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to making each event better than the last.

Our next resource center will be held at St. Bede's on Saturday, March 19th. If you're interested in volunteering with us for this event, please click here to sign up for a shift. If you're unable to make it in person but still would like to contribute, we are hosting a fundraiser to resupply our clothing. You can donate to our fundraiser by clicking here. Your donations will buy folks underwear, socks, bras, shoes, and other clothing that is commonly requested. We are also accepting gently used clothing items that are free of stains and holes. In particular, we have a lot of requests for hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, yoga pants, jeans, and tennis shoes. If you'd like to donate your clothing, please reach out to us via email at [email protected] to schedule a drop off.

Thanks so much to all volunteers, service providers, and donors for making each resource center such a success!

In Solidarity,
Brett (she/her)
