Apple Pay, Google Pay and more ways to Contribute
Published on April 4, 2023 by Benjamin Nickolls

Open Collective now supports payments using Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and more.

Last month we announced support for ACH and SEPA payments, enabling users to create single or recurring payment instructions directly with their banks. This month we're expanding the payment methods available to users even further, adding Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact (in Belgium), and BACS (in the UK):

The payment methods available to you will depend upon the Collective (or Hosts) receiving bank, the currency, amount and type of contribution (single or recurring), and the location Stripe (whose payments service we use to process transactions) believes you are paying from. Users can save payment methods, including payment methods linked through Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

In some cases, processing times will be longer than usual. Contributions made using BACS, ACH and SEPA can take up to two weeks for an instruction to be authorised and a payment to be made to the receiving Collective. Contributions can be tracked on your 'manage contributions' page. We will email you when your contribution is processed too.

This release is currently available to Collectives hosted by Open Source Collective, Open Collective Foundation and Open Collective EU. If you're interested in accepting contributions using these payment methods contact your Host, if you are a host and you're interested in offering these payment methods to your Collectives contact support using the link below.

Can you switch this repo off of Github, please, and instead use a Gitea (or fork) ?
Github is owned and run by Microsoft (M$), who I guarantee is seeking to exploit all this…
Please and thanks.

Open Collective as a platform provides fundraising and management tools to communities other than open source projects. Our fiscal host organisation Open Source Collective focuses on providing support to open source projects and does not discriminate against projects who choose to host their code on GitHub.Β
