San Antonio Review Updates - November 2021
Published on November 10, 2021 by William Pate

Friends,

As tomorrow is my 41st birthday, I invite you to contribute to San Antonio Review rather than send me the lovely gifts you were considering.

But I can't just ask for gifts without giving something in return. So, if you head over to the San Antonio Review Updates channel on Telegram, you'll find a free PDF version of San Antonio Review's latest print issue.

Also, don't miss our mention in San Antonio's daily newspaper, San Antonio Express-News, in a profile of SAR's former poetry editor and SAR Press author Alex Z. Salinas written by Rafael Castillo. We resurfaced one of the stories in Alex's latest short story collection that was first published in SAR on our site at sareview.org.

Finally, you've likely heard the senseless debate over "critical race theory" being taught in public schools across the nation. In Texas, they've taken it so far as to begin a House investigation into the books on public school libraries' shelves. To fight back, I urge you to consider sending a copy of the latest SAR to the public school of your choice in Texas.

By the way, here's a video I just created introducing a few of the things one can find in San Antonio Review. Enjoy!

Thank you.

Yours,
