Recap on the July 2021 Fresh Produce Pop Up @ Gross Point Park
Published on July 13, 2021 by Emery (she/her)

Image description: Emojis like hearts, smiley faces, and kissing faces border a message on a purple background with white text that reads: "Neighbors, businesses, and farmers nurtured another successful Produce Pop Up at Gross Point Park today! Thank you for showing us all what resilient community looks like!" In the middle of the graphic is a pink button with white text that reads, "#buildingcommunity"

We are so appreciative to everyone who has continued to support the monthly Produce Pop Up events! Whether it is through repping SSN on your social media accounts, telling your friends and family about the event, helping out with time and energy, or even a monetary or physical donation, every single bit helps! With your commitment, we will continue making connections, maintaining and building resilience, and celebrating our successes and joys as we navigate dismantling injustice and sorrow.

As we move into a new phase of the pandemic, it is clear the needs of the community are shifting as many programs are shutting down, despite an ever present need. In the coming weeks, please look out for ways to get involved financially, with your time as a member of SSN, or for information on conversations going on within the community and beyond surrounding mutual aid and abolition.

We'd like to take a moment to shout out to our super awesome people-power this month! Thank you so much to Sile, Meghan, Aimee, Adyson, Michael, Maudette, Melissa, Elana, Nikki, Emery, and Valerie! We appreciate our partnerships with @froelich_farms and @jerrysfruitandgarden and thank them kindly for their donations this month! And last but not least, this was not planned and we were all SO SHOCKED....thank you to the neighbors who stopped by and dropped off fresh herbs and to the neighbor who dropped of bags of groceries with snacks!

See you all next month on August 14th from 1-3PM at Gross Point Park!
