We are happy to announce the pre-release of CarbonKivy version 0.0.3.🎉🎉🎉🎉Install the pre-release version from pypi.pip install carbonkivy==0.0.3.dev0Post issues and bugs on the github repo.
See the examples on github. CarbonKivy is a next-generation toolkit for developers looking to create professional-grade applications using the power of Kivy coupled with the design excellence of Carbon Design principles.
Motive of CarbonKivy
The foremost motive of CarbonKivy is to make python and kivy more natural among Android and iOS developers providing them the comfort of a design framework for kivy easily adaptable. This framework is an attempt to make Python and Kivy more versatile and acceptable for cross platform software development.
We aim providing more and better features for developers compared to those in Javascript (React Native) and Dart (Flutter). Our motive is to provide all beloved python lovers with the potential to create cross platform software in python with the same ease and extensibility that python assures.
Current Progress
We are constantly working to upgrade and get the best out of our ideas. See CarbonKivy - Docs for the list of implemented features and components with the specific documentation. We planned to implement most of the available Carbon Design components and features in the CarbonKivy library.
To request for any feature you wish to have in CarbonKivy, open a pull request on the github repo.
Need of Funds
Kivy gained massive popularity among python developers, but we still have less developers who wanted to make it more better. CarbonKivy also comes up as a big codebase.
In CarbonKivy library, we only have one core contributor at this time.
For proper maintenance, timely upgrades, bug fixes and many other things, we need to have enough funds to host our project and keep our contributors intact.
We are giving every available time space for the enhancements made in the library but still this isn't all enough for a good pace development.
Therefore, we firmly request all the loving community to contribute for the better development of the library, so we can hire more passionate programmers for a fruitful future of the library.
