Updated Host Fees 📢 - VAT & rising operational costs

We want to share an important update regarding our host fees, which will take effect 01/02/2026. 
This update ensures that All For Climate can continue operating sustainably while providing reliable, high-quality fiscal hosting services to our growing network of collectives.
 
Why Host Fees Are Changing
This adjustment is driven by external requirements and rising operational costs, which are beyond our control:
 
  • VAT obligations:  All For Climate is now VAT-liable, which means we are legally required to charge 21% VAT on our host fees. 
  • Rising operational costs:
    • Increased costs from our new external accountant due to growing complexity and compliance requirements. 
    • Changes to the Open Collective platform, including the introduction of a pricing model for fiscal hosts that charges per number of collectives hosted and expenses paid (this does not benefit hosts that have many small collectives)

These factors make updating our host fees necessary to continue providing transparent, compliant, and dependable support to all collectives.
 
We also reviewed feedback from our past questionnaire, which helped us consider ways to balance sustainability with accessibility wherever possible. Later we'll share some general results from the questionnaire but we already want to thank you for your contribution. This will definitely help us in finding funders as well.
 
 
What’s Changing
Starting 01/02/2026:
 
  • Small Collectives (fewer than 15 donations and annual budget under €1000): host fee of 6%
  • Large Collectives (more than 15 donations and annual budget above €1000): host fee of 8%
  • Grant fees will remain unchanged.

  • Transparent financial management and reporting
  • Reliable reimbursements and transaction processing
  • Updates on funding and grant opportunities
  • Ongoing platform improvements, including new features
  • Community connection opportunities, helping collectives learn from and support one another

This adjustment ensures we can continue providing these services sustainably, while navigating legal and operational requirements.
