Welcome to Arctos Alliance

We're pleased to welcome you to the home of Arctos Alliance, a new nonprofit initiative focused on supporting the long-term health of the Apache Arrow and Apache Parquet ecosystems.
Arctos exists to complement and support the official Apache communities — not replace them — by providing additional engineering capacity, continuity, and resources for strategic work and long-standing maintenance needs.
We currently have five experienced Arrow and Parquet contributors engaged. They are helping to move several important initiatives forward, and are working through a substantial backlog of issues and pull requests.
Initial funding has come primarily from G-Research, with additional corporate sponsorship joining from Columnar and more in the works as the effort grows.
If your organization depends on Arrow or Parquet or you’re interested in helping sustain these critical data technologies, we would welcome a conversation about how to get involved.
