What will we offer payment for involvement for?
We offer payment for involvement in the Brent Giving 2025 Panel. This is because taking part requires significant time and commitment and we will make use of your experience and knowledge.

How much will I receive?
All members of the Panel will be remunerated for each session they attend, in recognition of your time. You can claim payment of £14.80 per hour for the number of hours that you attend. This is at the rate of the London Real Living Wage.

Participation involves:
  • Attending panel training sessions and panel meetings between October 2025 and December 2025

  • Reading and discussing funding applications

  • Agreeing simple priorities with the community in mind

  • Scoring and deciding which projects to fund

  • Reflecting on what worked and what we should change next time

This is called payment for involvement or payment for participation and is not the same as work.

Who will receive payment for involvement?
We offer payment for involvement to anyone who takes part in the Panel, who is doing so in their own time and not as part of a job they are already paid to do.

Accepting payment is optional, and it is your responsibility for any implications related to benefits and tax. You may wish to consult your local Citizens Advice Bureau for general guidance on benefits. For advice on tax-related impacts, please reach out to TaxAid: https://taxaid.org.uk/.

The last date you can submit a request for payment for involvement for the Brent Giving Panel 2025 is 18th January 2026.
