March Updates!
Published on April 6, 2021 by BCMA SG

Hello friends of Bull City Mutual Aid!

Thank you once again for your monetary contribution and support. Our fund continues to support neighbors directly throughout Durham county. We appreciate you staying engaged. We will continue to send out updates each month about our general fund and any specific projects we have going on.

This March, a total of $3,100 was contributed via our one-time contributions and monthly, recurring contributions. Together, we supported several neighbors with rent to stay housed with funds received through our Open Collective page. We currently have about 10 more folks who have been waiting on our cashfund list for monetary support. We closed the list for new requests a few months ago and will be rethinking what the cashfund processes will look like moving forward- stay tuned!

In addition, you have contributed $3,726.93 to our first Stimulus Redistribution project! That money was split between a few organizations that support our undocumented neighbors, who despite paying taxes, were not eligible for a stimulus check: La Semilla, FLOC, and Mi Para Ti. Please click their links to continue supporting their work and to find out more about each organization. La Semilla and FLOC preferred checks, so you will see those numbers reflected in our transactions and Mi Para Ti preferred that we send amounts to specific folks individually, which will also be reflected in our main transactions.

Our second Stimulus Redistribution project feeds into our main cashfund to support our neighbors who have been waiting for months for support. Please consider sharing some of your stimulus by clicking here.

Please check out the “events” section of our Open Collective page to find outdoor, distanced community events, like community gardening and Really Really Free Market. You can also stay updated with what’s going on with BCMA through our monthly newsletter- subscribe by clicking here. As always, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions or thoughts!

In solidarity,
