About

Let’s Get Together vision came after Alison Canning left her career to stay home and take care of her children, particularly her teenage daughter who needed more support and guidance. She took an active role in her children’s education and got involved with the school’s parent council. It was there, she saw the need for more educational assistance for youth and parents, the need to reduce the digital divide and the growing demand to make learning resources more equitable and accessible. Her strong belief that partnerships and connections strengthen community and enhance student success, serves as the foundation for Let’s Get Together.

Today, Let’s Get Together (LGT) is a women-led Canadian nonprofit organization based in the Greater Toronto Area with a growing national reach. We are dedicated to creating equitable, inclusive, and tech-enabled learning opportunities by removing systemic barriers to education.

Through community partnerships, repurposed technology, and youth-led skill-building programs, we empower job seekers, students, seniors and families to gain the tools, knowledge, and support they need to thrive in today’s growing digital world. Our mission is to ensure that every individual, regardless of background, has access to meaningful education, real-world learning experiences, and the opportunity to reach their full potential with no barriers.

Let's Get Together's Three Goals:

  1. Achieve Tech Equity through Sustainable Re-Use:
LGT’s Tech4All Program repurposes donated technology to provide computers and devices to individuals and families who need them most. By reducing electronic waste and extending the life of existing tech, we not only increase access to digital learning tools, but also reduce our environmental footprint. This sustainable approach supports both climate change and digital equity, ensuring every student has the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive in today’s tech-driven world.
  2. Build Post-Secondary Career-Ready Skills:
LGT empowers students to become career-ready by offering coaching, networking, and hands-on skill-building opportunities. Through community-centered projects, youth gain real-world experience, develop leadership and collaboration skills, and build the confidence they need to succeed in post-secondary education and beyond.
  3. Foster Growth Mindset & Resilience:
Through workshops, stories, and various educational material, LGT aims to teach Canadian youth to view challenges as learning opportunities by developing their growth mindset. Resiliency is promoted through the True North Friends book series while supplemental educational material can be found both within the book and on our website.
