Comida Pal Pueblo's efforts have shifted from our biweekly food and survival program to stewarding Moore Street's incoming farm garden, "Nos Cuidamos Community Garden." 

 

At the beginning of 2023, the garden was transitioning from an aquaponics farm to a hybrid soil farm with a pond aquaponics system. In the midst of the clean up, we tended to many container plants including herbs, roses and wild flowers, tomatoes, peppers, and lots of shiso. We saved around 15 koi and gold fish from the previous system to raise in our future aquaponics. We held a few community engagement events where we cooked for folks and had intergenerational activities. We facilitated several participatory design meetings and created a physical model of our "grown on moore st" farm. We've now finalized the collectively imagined design and have started working on it.
