What Happened in September?
Published on September 30, 2024 by Lucie Anglade

Hello!

In September, the Unicode Consortium released Unicode Standard v16, and the PDF version of the specification is generated with WeasyPrint ✨
We’re very proud to have been part of this project to helped on the PDF generation topic!

We alsos released a new project: tinyhtml5 🎉
tinyhtml5 is a Python library and a simplified fork of html5lib. This library will be used by the next main version of WeasyPrint.

Talking about the next main version of WeasyPrint, we’re still working on it and we aim to release v63 during October.
This release will include some huge changes. If you’re curious and can’t wait, you can have a look at the releated milestone 👀

Before the summer, we gave a talk at the JDLL conference in Lyon (France) about money and Open Source software. The video has been published.
The talk is in French but we’ll published an article about this topic in English!

To finish this month, we went to a PrePostPrint event and met many users and developpers of HTML-to-print tools 💖
It was a very nice meeting and we have way too many ideas to work on and think about later.

That’s all for this month!

Thanks for supporting us 💜
