Hi y'all,

It is with a heavy heart that we say this, but Rose and I are deciding to sunset Crystal Linux / Project Shards as a whole.

We've been ambitious and we've tried to fill the boots we've set up ourselves for, but personal life oftentimes gets in the way of these things. Unfortunately in this case we are all far too busy for the technical demands of working on something like CL/PS.

This post will be mirrored to our Discord community, our forums, as well as our OpenCollective page, we will attempt to keep the forums and OC page up for approx. 30 days from this announcement, but after that we will cease support and the infrastructure will start to be discontinued.

I'd like to personally thank every single person who has ever contributed to CL/PS. Despite all going our separate ways, we have all had an impact on each others lives. We have had funny moments, stressful moments, we have learned from each other, and we have berated each other for low quality code. We will all miss each other dearly, and friendships forged in this space will remain.

Personally speaking as Michal now, I will follow an almost decade long tradition in projects of mine and leave you all with a quote from one of my favourite novels of all time, Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy":

I hope every last one of you stays ambitious, and moves on to greater ventures.
