Expanding to Europe: Research Collaboration with INRIA's R2lab (France)
Published on April 15, 2026 by Kaitlyn Brishae Truby

Hello community,
Following our recent integration with the ORBIT/COSMOS testbed in the US, we are excited to share our progress on the European front! DDLSim-Lab is actively utilizing INRIA’s R2lab infrastructure in France for our next phase of experiments.
Why R2lab?
INRIA’s R2lab provides a unique, highly controlled environment with bare-metal nodes that are absolutely perfect for validating our microsecond-level edge-cloud deterministic networking benchmarks.
By running our eBPF and XDP telemetry experiments simultaneously on US-based testbeds and European infrastructure, we are ensuring that our open-access datasets are globally robust, highly accurate, and free from regional network biases.
This transatlantic approach is a huge leap for our open-source research initiative. We will be publishing our comparative datasets soon. Thank you to everyone supporting borderless Open Science!
