If you plan to donate monthly, but can afford to donate yearly please do. This is because the transaction costs on a yearly basis will be 12 times as low. Transaction costs for one person might seem nothing but if you scale this then its advantage becomes obvious. For instance,
SEPA Debit: If we have 10.000 people donating 10 EUR a month via SEPA Debit then the total transaction cost would be: 10.000x0.35x12 = 42.000 EUR. If we donate yearly this would be reduced to only 3500 EUR.
Conclusion: Donate yearly if you can afford it ;)
