Sunday, March 5 : Co-Sponsor of “Rally to Resist: We Won’t Be Silent!” in coalition with One Iowa, Iowa Safe Schools, Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, and 40+ more community organizations to say NO to all the anti-LGBTQ legislation. Justice-making must always mind the intersections! Systems of oppression always work together - they are interlocking. Our work for liberation must be as well. Staying engage in collective organizing it vital! Our lives depend on coalition. We need each other.
Saturday, March 25: Joined the “Child Labor Day of Action” hosted by Iowa Federation of Labor, Common Good Iowa, Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa, NAACP Des Moines Chapter, and South Central Federation of Labor to stand against child labor law rollbacks.
Saturday, April 22: Tabled at “Banned Book Read-Out & Giveaway” hosted by Annie's Foundation, making connections in the community and making the intersections clear on the impact of banning books. An overwhelming number of these bans target books that tell the truth about our racial history and present—and offer tools and strategies for growing a racially just future. We need to keep showing up, telling the truth, and helping get as many of these books in the hands of as people as we possibly can!
