In collaboration with Open Labs Hackerspace, FLOSSK organized a webinar titled “PCB Design with KiCAD,” focusing on the fundamentals of printed circuit board design and practical electronic engineering workflows.
The session was held on April 25 at 15:00 and guided participants through the basic concepts of PCB design, starting from schematic creation and progressing to board layout and the generation of manufacturing files. The webinar also included a practical demonstration where a PCB was designed step by step to illustrate the complete workflow.
The session was delivered by Erdet Nasufi, Lead Electrical Engineer at Solaborate, with extensive experience in electronics design and embedded systems development. Drawing from his professional background, he provided insights into real-world PCB design practices and the transition from conceptual schematics to production-ready hardware.
Throughout the webinar, participants were introduced to key aspects of KiCAD, an open-source tool widely used for electronic design automation. The discussion emphasized both theoretical foundations and hands-on techniques, helping attendees understand how PCB design fits into broader hardware development processes.
The event contributed to strengthening local knowledge in electronics and open hardware, encouraging participants to explore practical applications of PCB design and open-source engineering tools.
