Documentation moved to Fody/Home
Published on February 11, 2019 by Simon Cropp

The Fody documentation has been moved from https://github.com/Fody/Fody/wiki to https://github.com/Fody/Home/tree/master/pages

The reasons for this are:

  • Moving it into a full GitHub repository (instead of a wiki) allows access to the full code based features of GitHub, for example, Pull Requests, simplified cloning, and notifications.
  • Moving from the "Fody" repository to the "Home" means doco can be updated without creating noise in the git history of the main code repository.
  • Enables better control of permissions and review of changes to doco pages.

The documentation has also been reviewed and cleaned up so as to be in sync with Fody version 4. All code snippets are now located in a Solution and merged with the markdown pages using https://github.com/SimonCropp/MarkdownSnippets. This will help prevent code snippets becoming out of sync with the main code repository. If anyone wants a demo of how the code snippets are handled, let me know and we can hop on a call.

In the future issues related to doco should be raised in https://github.com/Fody/Home/issues
