Request for refunded All for Climate Travel Fund to be used for Rail to the COP Campaign

Dear FFF Europe Collective,

I am reaching out on behalf of the Dutch NGO Youth for Sustainable Travel to request funding for our Rail to the COP campaign. As part of this campaign we are organising a Climate Train from Amsterdam to Glasglow for COP26 to facilitate dialogue between the rail industry, climate activists, youth and policy makers. In order to ensure that youth activists and underrepresented groups are able to join the Climate Train, we are raising money to cover the travel costs they may incur.

Given that the FFF Europe collectives' 5000 euros donation to the Climate Travel Fund has been refunded recently, we would like to request that this money is put towards supporting young activists in their journey to the COP26 in Glaslgow. We are still 8,000-9,000 euros away from our target to have all youth tickets completely funded, and the money from FFF would go a long way to reaching this goal.

Do you want to learn more about our project? Go to https://railtothecop.com/ and have a look. Our Opencollective is https://opencollective.com/rail-to-the-cop. You can also find us on social media through our website. We want to get a diverse group of people on the train and the more money we raise, the more people we can support on their way to Glasgow.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Jakob and the Rail to the COP team.

Eleanor

Dear Jakob
Thank you for your email and message to the Open Collective Account.
It is preferred that all requests for COP travel money are submitted on individual basis.  As administrators of this fund we have a duty of transparency. I have put your request on the agenda for our meeting this week and we will discuss and draft a set of rules for requested  payments. If you could share some more information about Rail for the COP that would be most helpful.
Looking forward to be in touch again.
Sending best wishes
