Today marks one year since we launched FUR/HELP, to support LGBTQIA+ refugees from post-soviet countries who identify as part of the Furry community. We are proud of the work we have done so far, and we are grateful for the generosity and solidarity of our donors, partners, and volunteers.

FUR/HELP was born out of a shared vision to create a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ refugees who face discrimination, persecution, and violence in their countries of origin. Many of them have experienced trauma, isolation, fear, torture, and have struggled to find acceptance and belonging in their new communities. FUR/HELP provides them with legal, financial, and mental assistance, as well as opportunities to express their creativity and identity through art, music, storytelling, and much more.

In the past year, we have helped over 7 Furry LGBTQIA+ refugees from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and other former soviet republics on their way to find safety and dignity in Canada, the United States, and Europe. We have also raised awareness about the challenges and needs of this marginalized and misunderstood group, and advocated for their rights and inclusion. We have also organized a platform for Furry philanthropy and a platform for Furry refugees to express themselves, even expanding to the United States and helping transgender people in need.

We are inspired by the courage and resilience of our refugees, who have overcome so many hardships to pursue their dreams and happiness. We are honored to be part of their journey, and to witness their transformation and growth. We are also humbled by the kindness and compassion of our supporters, who have shown us that love knows no borders or boundaries.

As we look back on our achievements and challenges, we also look forward to the future with hope and optimism. We know that there is still much work to be done, and that there are many more LGBTQIA+ refugees who need our help.

We are committed to continue our mission with passion and dedication, and to expand our reach and impact.
