Non-binary isn't a third gender. It's much more.

Today is the International Non-Binary People's Day was created by Katje van Loon and first celebrated in 2012. Today, let us honor the strength and courage of non-binary and trans people fighting for their freedom in different parts of our world.

Non-binary identity stands on its own, a valid and important part of the diverse LGBTQIA+ community. Each non-binary person has the right to choose their relationship to the transgender umbrella, and their individual decision should always be honored and valid.

Unfortunately, non-binary people still face many threats. Annually, thousands of them are being discriminated against, tortured, and killed. Many of them have to abandon their countries of birth and/or habitude due to the danger. And, though it may be hard to acknowledge, the situation with trans rights and with them non-binary rights gets much worse this year.

Today, we want to express our great respect for trans and non-binary persons' resilience and will to fight. Though it may be hard to remain yourself in these circumstances, you are doing great, you aren't alone!
