Between 3000 to 20000 people have been killed in the ongoing protests for freedom in Iran, as Khomeini cronies crackdown. What began with soaring inflation and a collapsing currency has escalated into a nationwide uprising where the authorities of Ayatollah increasingly resort to internet blackouts and violent crackdowns to silence dissent.

We speak also against the attempts of the United States, Israel and China to externally interfere with affairs of Iran, seeking not freedom of people in Iran, but instead to profit politically from genuine grief.

FUR/HELP always stood and will stand with the Iranian people, especially LGBTQIA+ Iranians who face systemic erasure under theocratic rule that fight for a free, democratic and fair Iran. Iran that isn't ruled by Ayatollah, but instead by all Iranians. We believe freedom must include equality for all. Opposing the Iranian regime isn't Islamophobic, as the main victims of crackdowns are mostly Muslims themselves.

We join other international organisations in our calls to immediately end repression against the Iranian people, to preserve freedom of organization and manifestation, immediate end to executions and persecution of Iranian people and respect for human rights within Iran.
