Please make sure you type your full name and not just an initial. For example ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘J Smith’.
Using Paypal to accept bank transfers, especially internationally, may not work. Please input bank details. Paypal is not a bank.
Each individual can request a grant of £100 twice in a rolling sixth month period, a rough outline of what you need it for is useful but we do not need specifics. "Living expenses", "travel" or "meds" or whatever is fine. This policy is open to review in the future, depending on circumstances and funds. If you make a request you will not recieve the funds immediately, money is sent three times a week. If you need money and are not in the UK, it will take longer.
If you need more than c. £100 then we will set up a vote, if you need more than £350 we will set up a vote and it comes a hog project if it succeeds.
Please try and keep your requests short, especially if requesting a grant, a lot of detail rather than the specifics of what you need can make it more confusing and require more time to set up a vote.
In example, just put in something like: "I need X money because of a surprise bill" or "I need X money for an x-ray"
Additionally, at times we have had people relying on hogaid for rent payments, this depletes the funds very quickly because it's a large and repeated payment and means it is harder to help other people. So current policy on rent has changed to: initial rent grant will be treated as normal (meaning if it is below £350 then it will be voted on, and if it is above £350 then it will become a project), additional rent grants requested in a 6 month period, will be created as projects.
