Creating a file for CNC machines

Good afternoon.
I'm glad you made the "layout explosion" in version 5 of the plugin .
Could you foresee the possibility to make nesting sheets not only in PDF format, but also as a real model in Sketchup format ? Then users with CNC machines would be able to upload these files directly to the CNC machines (e.g. in .dfx or .dwg format).

Hi Igor,

I understand, and for sure, exporting cutting diagrams or the real part shape would be a killer feature !

But we don't want to write this kind of export in the 3D model itself. Even if it seems to be easier for the moment. We think that OCL must always keep the 3D model as clean as possible. Its main goal is to read data from the model, not to write.

Today it could be quite simple for OCL to export cutting diagram to SVG directly, because they are already rendred in SVG in the GUI.
BUT, this feature may not be suffisant for larger CNC use case. That's why we remove this cheap solution from 4.0 plan.

We have to brain on a global and useful solution that permit to export more than cutting diagrams.

ok.
you do not want to save the file for CNC in the model itself, but it can be saved in the same folder with the same name by adding the prefix CNC_.
What do you think about this ?

ок.
вы не хотите сохранять файл для CNC в самой модели, но его можно сохранить в той же папке с тем же именем, добавив префикс CNC_.
Что вы думаете об этом ?

Yes, it can. But the user need to open each SKP one by one to convert it manually to DXF or other format.

Sorry if this kind of feature may take time to arrived, but we prefer :
- a clean "all-in-one" solution instead of a solution that pass through an intermediate software. And if it should, it must be transparent for the user.
- a solution that correspond to maximum of use case
