Hi, Know you guys have been tremendous with the work on OCL. Love the way it’s shaping up. There were 2 things i wanted to sort out before trying for production in the factory; 1. Is there a way to generate a complete parts-list in alphabetic order of cabinet groups like for example a kitchen cabinet which can have sheet materials of two different thicknesses. Presently I see it’s laid out in order of sheets which is very useful for the cutting operator in the factory. The other arrangement might help for packing and installation team. My reference being a layout software which i presently use in production where in i have the flexibility of sorting the parts list as per name, copies, thickness, width etc and also group assign data to them. 2. The label editing options are too cool. Only thing if it can be generated in the same order of cutting diagram it would help while pasting it on the cut-pieces at time of cutting. Meanwhile the exploding feature that's yet to release seems another level. Awesome work.
Thanks for enjoying OpenCutList 😊 ! And thank you reposting your request here.

You want to talk about a new top level that split the cutlist according to the position in the hierarchy tree of each part ?
Currently this can be done by manually by selecting each cabinet and generate the cutlist on it. There's no automatic way the achieve this.
The main problem is how OCL can detect that a group is useful to consider a new cabinet ? No model contains only 1 level of depth on groups, no ?
Only thing if it can be generated in the same order of cutting diagram it would help while pasting it on the cut-pieces at time of cutting.
In 5.0, we will add a new "Bin" sort property to "group" labels by sheet or bar. But sub sorting wont change, because there no common strategy for cutting a cutting diagram :). Each user can have it's own cut order strategy.
In 5.0, Labels can hold the sheet/bar number with the "bin" field :
Thank you for the reply. Hope to see more soon. Also just attaching a sample screenshot for my present partslist sample I provide to factory. I guess the explode feature coming up ll be helpful with regard to the parts per furniture unit and it’s details wrt the cutting diagram.
