As we witness yet another social awakening in a further collapsing world, we remain rooted in our commitment to Black single mothers knowing that when the Black, poor, disabled, trans, queer single mother is free, we will all be free.

Over the last year, we’ve created various pathways for the collective to show up for Black single mothers in consistent, tangible, and rooted ways. Through our ecosystems, we’ve:
- Resourced over 125 Black single mothers with material support
- Redistributed over $135,000 to Black single mothers from over 345 financial partners and are on track to redistribute an additional $70,000 during this upcoming holiday season
- Radicalized the narrative around Black single motherhood
Because of our amazing donor partners, this year, we were able to sustain key operational functions of our organization. With this support, we’ve:
- Compensated our core team members with monthly salaries
- Collaborated with a team of amazing consultants to solidify our messaging, evaluate our impact, and further develop our programming
- Concentrated efforts towards expanding our reach to more Black single mothers (resulting in growing our mother’s interest list from 120 mothers to over 600 mothers), developing tools for financial partners to enter into a praxis of possibility, and subverting the nonprofit status quo by finding ways to work within and without the system
Our work in mobilizing community-collected resources to ensure the well-being of Black single mothers is only just beginning. Our goal is to interrupt harm and create spaces of respite and reprieve where ecosystems of care, love, and nurturance can be cultivated and activated for Black single mothers and our children.
