March 2023 Update
Published on April 4, 2023 by Jenna L
Hi all!
It’s that time of the month; we’re here with your MAB March update!
Mutual Aid Books continued to support our friends and comrades from COVID19 Mutual Aid and Uprooted & Rising Seattle at their March pantry. We delivered books for children and adults in both English and Spanish, as well as some titles on plant life, history, and parenting.
We hosted our monthly tabling event at The Station on Beacon Hill on March 25th and we were thrilled to connect with community members seeking abolitionist and radical texts. If there are any books, zines, or even themes you wanna see at the table, please let us know (email and insta info below)! As a reminder, we’ll be at The Station again on the last Saturday of this month from 1-3 pm, so we hope to see you on April 29th!
Our political education group is looking to launch our first public reading group (with some special guest facilitation by No New Washington Prisons) in June! We’ll be reading through No More Police by Mariame Kaba and Andrea Ritchie and we hope you’ll come read with us this summer. (It’s gonna be so cute!) The exact start date is still TBD so stay tuned on our instagram @mutualaidbooks for updates on this and other exciting events.
As always, we deeply appreciate your solidarity. If you have any questions or feedback, send us an email at seamutualaidbooks (at) gmail.com.
In solidarity,
Alex and the rest of the MAB team
