Better lyrics (now with synced, karaoke-style timing)
Lyrics have been upgraded to fully support synced lyrics in multiple formats (including karaoke-style word-by-word timing and multi-voice tracks). Music apps can access these new lyrics through the updated OpenSubsonic v2 lyrics extensions.
Much faster syncing and day-to-day library browsing
For large libraries—especially when clients mirror the whole library—syncs are now faster and more reliable:
- Full-library sync via search3 stays fast at every “depth” (about 30–50x faster at deep offsets, and around 20x faster for a full sync on ~1M tracks)
- A sync safety fix prevents duplicate/short pages that could otherwise corrupt syncs.
- getRandomSongs is about 13x faster.
Everyday performance also improves with database updates for playlists and sorting--roughly ~9x to ~160x faster, depending on the action.
