Expressing themselves honestly while maintaining a connection
Being deeply heard
Offering presence to others

2. The “Yes” Behind a “No”
This session focused on transforming how participants perceive resistance.
Every “No” is an expression of an unmet need
Shifting from confrontation to curiosity
Participants practised, identifying the need behind rejection
Responding with empathy instead of defensiveness

Turning regret into growth and new choices
The teachers reflected on classroom interactions.

4. NVC-Based Leadership: Leading with Empathy
Participants agreed that NVC leadership is about Service rather than control and responsibility for connection and well-being
We agreed that the key elements of NVC leadership is;
-        Creating safe spaces for expression
-        Moving away from fear-based discipline

Participant Reflections and feedbacks
1.     Each NVC session has changed my attitude positively.
2.    NVC is making me embrace different situations in a given place.
3.   Thank you, NVC team, for opening my ears on many things that have really made me reenergized and tried to connect to many workmates and even my family members within the few days we have been here.
4.  Indeed, it has been a good foundation that NVC is setting in the Diani Montessori family. It has really changed something in me.
5.  Thanks for such a programme, as a beginner. I have so far unlearnt much. If I am taken through the whole training, I believe. I will be the best, and the community around me will be peaceful and friendly. Never tire to train, it is for the best of our society. Once again, thank so much.
6.     The training was perfect. The examples and used were lively. The sessions were therapeutic. But I have some concerns.

Challenges Observed
- There were two rainy mornings which affected our starting time of the sessions. During the day, the rain affected how we listened to each other.
- The afternoon sessions were delayed because lunch was late.

Recommendations

- Conduct follow-up and advanced NVC trainings within the school.
- Integrate NVC into daily school routines, policies and establish peer empathy circles within the school
- Support student-led NVC initiatives so that the students can learn and practice more.
 - Encourage school leadership to model NVC practices consistently

Conclusion
The training successfully created a foundation for a more empathetic, communicative, and collaborative school culture at Diani Montessori School. There is a paradigm shift that is taking place at school.
The theme “Speak with Clarity, Listen with Empathy” was not only understood but actively practised by participants, marking a significant step toward long-term cultural transformation.

Next Steps
- Continued engagement with Diani Montessori School, Advanced thematic sessions (Leadership, Conflict, Culture Change)
- Expansion of training to other surrounding schools
