New feature: edit signature 📝
Published on April 30, 2025 by Xavier Damman
Lately, due to the general political climate, we have received an increasing number of requests to edit or remove signatures.
I must say that it's quite disturbing that we live in a time where people don't feel safe anymore to keep their signature on an open letter that they signed in the past 🤯
This shows that freedom of speech is useless if we create an environment where it doesn't feel safe to express publicly our opinion.
In any case, we finally released a new feature to allow people to edit their signature (so that they can turn it into "anonymous" if they want to, or use a pseudonymous).
From now on, whenever you sign an open letter you will receive in your confirmation email a unique link to allow you to edit your signature at any point in the future. Keep it preciously and don't share it!
For older signatures, for now the best is still to use this Google Form: https://forms.gle/NqewFfQVdftQqGnn9
We are volunteers so support is limited (and can be slow, especially during holidays).
Thank you for your understanding.
And thank you to everyone who has been supporting this open source project financially 🙏

If you have any feedback or question, you can share them on https://opencollective.com/openletter/conversations or create an issue on our open source project on github: https://github.com/citizenspring/openletter/issues
