OSL Summer of Code Fellowship
Open Science Labs received 4 GSoC slots, but 9 strong, mentor-approved candidates were left unfunded. OSL is launching OSL Summer of Code so they can still complete their projects with the same mentors.
Goal: USD 30000 (USD 3 000 each + overhead)
Timeline:
- campaign 9–31 May;
- coding Jun–Sep;
- public results and a joint certificate from OSL & The GRAPH Network.
Donate via Open Collective to keep their open-source research moving.
Open Science Labs (OSL) was honored to receive four project slots in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025. The GSoC program has greatly increased the visibility of OSL-affiliated projects and attracted many skilled contributors. However, nine strong candidates recommended by OSL mentors could not be accommodated because of the limited number of GSoC slots.
To uphold its mission of providing meaningful, real-world experience to open-source contributors, OSL is launching OSL Summer of Code—a complementary initiative that allows those nine candidates to work on their approved project ideas under the same mentors during the standard GSoC coding period.
Funding Goal
- Target amount: USD 30,000.00
- USD 27000: stipends (USD 3 000 per candidate)
- USD 3000: 10 % fiscal-host overhead (Open Source Collective)
The final stipend for each participant will depend on the total raised and may range from USD 0 to USD 3 000. All funds will be distributed transparently through the fiscal host.
