Podlite Desktop 0.8 is released
Published on June 21, 2026 by Alex Zahatski
Podlite Desktop 0.8 is out, shipped as a short run of patch releases over a week. It is the free, open source editor for Podlite markup, on macOS, Windows and Linux.
The one most people will reach for is inline images: paste from the clipboard or drag a file in from Finder, and the editor drops it into a media folder next to your document and writes the =picture line for you. Around it, =include now resolves live in the preview instead of showing a placeholder, code blocks get syntax highlighting, and headings and lists can auto-number. macOS gets a native Apple Silicon build, so M-series machines run without Rosetta.
Your backing is what keeps the editor, the parser, and the specification maintained between releases like this one.
Thank you to everyone backing Podlite. It matters.
