Losing our Fiscal Host

Hello Diaper Fund Supporters!
If you're receiving this message, it means that you have donated funds to Rain or Shine Diaper Fund, which were used to purchase diapers and wipes for families here in Brooklyn. We are incredibly grateful for your support over the nearly 4 years we've been in operation.
We learned recently that our fiscal host, the Open Collective Foundation, is dissolving. This news was abrupt, and we're still figuring out how to react. As our fiscal host, OCF allowed us to collect tax-deductible donations, basically giving us the benefits of a 501(c)(3) without forming our own nonprofit. OCF is separate from the Open Collective fundraising platform, which is the website that hosts our homepage and allows us to fundraise and send newsletters to our donors.
What this means for you, our dear donors, is that we will not be able to accept new donations starting on March 15, 2024. Recurring donations will cease, and you will receive an email from Open Collective stating that your payment was not processed.
As for us, we basically have two choices. We have the option to leave Open Collective altogether and begin anew on another fundraising platform, or we can try to find a new fiscal host that will allow us to continue using the Open Collective platform, retaining all of our recurring donors. We are in touch with other groups in the same boat, and are rushing to sort out the path forward. We sincerely hope that you will continue to support us once we figure out a new setup.

If you are connected to any nonprofits that are open to fiscally hosting small local aid groups like the Diaper Fund, we would love to know.
