We've been in the building for a year and some change now (!), and are still imagining a million and one ways we can make it better. The list is long... but we're tackling what we can bit by bit. What's up next? We're raising the roof! Yes, literally.

Thanks to very good friend of the studio, Chien-An Yuan; we are having an actual roof-raising SHOW in the studio to kick off the renovations and
raise some additional cash.

Imagine big-party-at-the-end-of-Empire-Records-type-of-vibes. There will be a large jar of cash. INCREDIBLE music. And some very sick goods donated by friends for the silent auction (prints from Chien, jewelry from Humboldt House, show posters made by Ali Lorenz, etc.)

From 5/14-5/28 we’ll be removing the old dropped drywall ceiling, raising the ceiling height by about 2 feet, exposing those gorgeous old existing beams, then soundproofing it. Our hope is that this will improve the acoustics in the room and make it feel BIGGER, MORE EXPANSIVE, and be an even happier place to make music and dance.

The studio will be closed for two weeks to do the project; so funds raised will go toward:
-covering lost income during the closure
-materials
-building costs
