RFC thanks you for your support over the years!
Published on March 15, 2024 by Leah Arteaga

Friends of RFC,

I hope this message finds you well. As you may have been notified recently, Open Collective Foundation (our fiscal sponsor for many years) made the difficult decision to close it's doors. As such they will no longer be taking donations. RFC opened an account at the Tremont Credit Union in Roslindale Square last December and also made the leap to become our own 501(c)3! We received our approval letter from the IRS so any donations are a tax deduction for you. I would be happy to share the bank information with you, if you would like to continue to support the work we are doing in the community, please email [email protected]. The Roslindale Food Collective website should be up and running VERY SOON, with a link to donate there if you wish.

I send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported this endeavor along the way.  Together along with Food Rescue US we have made a huge impact on reducing food waste and helping to support those struggling with food insecurity.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Leah Arteaga

Hello  All
As a long term volunteer off and on with the Sunday surplus food effort at the Lutheran church on Center St in JP, and previously at the Irving School I have seen the generous dedication of Leah Arteaga and other volunteers  in persisting in this always evolving effort.  The way it is organized gives lots of room for volunteer autonomy with just enough structure to make it happen, no easy task.  I come to  the program  first as a way to address food waste  and second food insecurity.
