Kicking off 2019 with the Interplanetary Alert Network (IAN) work

Sahana Research and Action (SaRA) began investigating the concept around alert authentication without aggregations; kind'a spells out Blockchain. Then realized Hyperledger Fabric and blockchain were inclined towards assets and transactions. Although we were able to model the transaction of CAP messages, the framework seemed complex. We stumbled onto Interplanetary File System (IPFS), which seemed to server the encryption and chaining of content. Hence, the Interplanetary Alert Network (IAN) design work began.
Each IPFS node will need to offer a search and filter for other nodes to update content. Therefore, the next phase of work embarks on
- Developing various APIs for data extracts from the globally aggregated alerts and bulletins
- Develop NLP and apply clustering algorithms for classifying the alert messages
- Develop a Bayesian network for providing real-time updates to filtered alerts
