Are we going to see a new desktop environment in the future for Serpent OS? Will it be GTK based? Just curious.

I sincerely hope not :) Our focus with Serpent OS is providing a reliable delivery vehicle for upstreams - rather than unnecessarily diverging. We plan to include at least GNOME and Plasma in our repos, and likely more in time.
Our area of differentiation is rather in the lower levels of plumbing, i.e moss boulder etc :)
