Community Event Recording Captioning
Your contribution of $300 will fund closed captioning service for one of our community event recordings.
This goal will fund closed captioning service for our community event recordings. Our program is designed to be flexible, so our residents can participate fully without compromising their access needs, heath, or personal and professional commitments. While we host regular community events via zoom, not all of our residents can attend every time. Providing accessible event recordings to our residents in a timely manner can go a long way to ensuring everyone in the cohort can engagement equitably.
While we have aimed to caption our own event recordings, we are a grassroots organization led by a small team of volunteer Disabled artists; our time and energy is limited, so captioning recordings can often take longer than ideal. This goal will enable us to hire a freelance captioner from within the Disability community (at the industry standard of $5 / minute) to create closed captioning files for our community events.
We host roughly 2 one-hour community events per month during out 10-month residency cycle.
