❄️ Sol Below ❄️
Sol Below is a community run warming station for folks not reached by the city’s winter warming shelters. Every night the weather falls below 35 degrees we go out from 8pm to 8 am to provide folks with temporary relief from the elements, hot food/drinks, winter clothing, sleeping bags, medicine, and more in a heated pop-up canopies to keep folks warm.
This year we are fundraising a bit earlier to get prepared for the cold season! Below is a breakdown on what we plan to spend funds on.
$3,000 - Cold weather restock (hoodies, thermals, jackets, sleeping bags etc)
$1,750 - Sol Below Supplies (Food, Propane, Heaters, Cots, etc)

$250 - Misc (random things like cough medicine etc)
Interested in volunteering? We always looking for folks to help pass out food, organize the supplies, keep the heaters going, have dope conversations, and hang out in the cold! You can find all volunteer opportunities through our linktree.

Sol Below FAQs
- Location: For most Sol related activities downtown, we set up on the corner of MLK and Central Ave outside of the Catholic Shrine of Immaculate Conception and directly across from the justice center tower. We are not affiliated with the church but have cultivated a close relationship with many of the folks that live on the steps and around the capitol. The best address to use is 48 M.L.K. Jr Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30303 and there is typically street parking on that side of the church.
- What to wear: We always advise people to bundle up because it can get extremely cold and uncomfortable very quickly. Here is a short guide we wrote about dressing for cold weather.
- What should I bring? We typically ask folks just to bring themselves but we will never turn away food, snacks or coffee! If you do choose to bring [hot] food we just ask that you have it packaged in a way that can stay relatively warm without electricity.
- Restrooms: There are no open public restrooms in the area so we advised folks to use the bathroom before they leave [unless you are comfortable going behind bushes].
