Our New Fiscal Sponsor!
Published on April 17, 2024 by Victoria Jayne
Good Morning, Fridge Friends!
We are thrilled to be able to share with you today that we are now fiscally sponsored by the Hack Foundation. Following the announcement by Open Collective Foundation that they are dissolving, we have spent several weeks hard at work to move our operations to a new fiscal sponsor. We chose to join the Hack Foundation as a fiscal sponsee because their financial tools will allow us to continue easily reimbursing volunteers for food purchases and other program expenses. The Hack Foundation allows us to run our organization with transparency and autonomy, while giving us the benefits of a nonprofit organization.
You can now make financial donations to South Philadelphia Community Fridge at this link. Our shortened donation link to share is bit.ly/donatespcf.
We invite you to join our all-volunteer meetings today at 10:30 AM or 6:30 PM for more information on our operations and our transition to the Hack Foundation. Our meetings are held on Skype at this link. Feel free to join whichever meeting time suits your schedule. Skype can be used in your web browser on your computer. To join on your phone, you need to download the free Skype app.
If you have not done so already, please sign up to receive our volunteer emails via this Google Form, so we can continue to stay in touch as we transition off the Open Collective platform.
We are so deeply grateful for the love and support of our community, particularly as we navigated the unexpected challenge of finding a new fiscal sponsor. Thank you for being part of South Philadelphia Community Fridge.
