Teasel, Cardiff Food Justice Collective, Mabin Eatery, and Y Teulu Teg brings you SPRING EQUEERNOX - a celebration of queer folks' complex relationships to their land.
Folks from different backgrounds who are passionate about food justice and land justice have come together for this event to explore our queer relationships to our nourishment, the seasons, and our ecosystem.
We will:
- Ritually welcome the long awaited season of spring
- Learn about indigenous teachings through a Magunatip bamboo dance (approached in a culturally appropriate way)
- Engage in a structured conversation about our relationships to what we call 'nature'
- 'Read' about folks' queer relationships to their land in our Spring Equeernox human library, in which each 'book' is a person who will share their story
- Share a spring equeernox feast provided by the amazing Mabin with contributions from attendees!
Food:
We welcome and encourage participants to bring any dish or foods that represent spring and spring equinox for them. We will label these with allergens. This will be complemented by a delicious vegan meal from Mabin Eatery.
Location and Arrival:
We open doors at 5:30pm in the Bingo Hall in Cathays Community Centre and the event will officially start at 6pm.
