Programme Producer Brief 

The Enfield Town Steering Group is a new model for local partnership working led by representatives from community, cultural, voluntary, public-sector organisations, the council and local businesses in Enfield Town. 

We aim to build local capacity, champion existing activities, and launch new initiatives to help improve the town centre, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. 

We are looking for a Programme Producer to develop and deliver a minimum of three public events and activities that combined meet and support the following priorities:

-        Make the Town Centre more vibrant 
-        Preserve its heritage and identity 
-        Develop a stronger night-time economy 
-        Increase cultural, family-friendly and intergenerational activities in the Town Centre 
-        Are accessible and inclusive 
-        Create opportunities for local people to shape creative activities 

Fee for the role: £3000 

Programme Delivery Dates: Between May-July 2026 

Programme Budget inclusive of all fees and expenses: £4000 

Brief for the Programme

We are seeking a programme that incorporates the activities below and where possible, can align with and add value to additional community-led events being delivered in the town centre: 

Ø  An inter-generational Public trail that activates the high street and celebrates local businesses and retailers 

Ø Town Centre activation, animating different outdoor locations throughout the town centre through programming cultural activities and happenings in spaces including Library Green, Saddlers Square, Fountain Island and Palace Gardens Shopping Centre 

We welcome the producer’s own creative ideas in shaping and interpreting what these events and activities might look like.  


Additional community-led events/activities being delivered in the town centre include: 
  • The Enfield Society 90th anniversary celebrations from May onwards 
  • Armed Forces Day in June 
  • Youth Activities Day in June 


Desired Skills:
 

We are seeking someone with a range of expertise and creative talents to benefit this project. It would be great if you can also bring: 

  • Experience of programming cultural activities and events for a range of contexts and outdoor spaces 
  • The ability to be proactive, work on your own initiative and as part of a collaborative team 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

This is a freelance opportunity supported through UK Shared Prosperity Funding. It is anticipated the Producer will work approximately 16 days over a four-month period. 

The Producer will be responsible for paying their own tax and national insurance contributions.
