News, August 2026

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the Summer concert at St Edward’s Church on 23rd August such a success. It was a wonderful event (there are some images posted below). A varied musical programme was enjoyed by all – there was even an opportunity for audience participation!

After the concert, everybody had time to browse the stalls and enjoy some refreshments (all of which were kindly donated by supporters).
To date, an amazing sum of £1,389.13 has been donated – an impressive amount that will make such a positive difference to the school. Two of our long-standing supporters, Jill and Louise will be visiting the school in November. They will take £200 from this total with them to Nepal so that they can purchase vital resources for the school (everything is much cheaper there). We’ll publish details of the purchases on their return.

This news update comes at an incredibly difficult and challenging time for Nepal. It is hard to imagine the extent of the devastation caused by the floods and the consequent grief and suffering of so many people. We have contacted the Malagiri school and the principal, Gautam said: ‘We are all safe in Malagiri and thankfully there has not been any serious flooding or major damage around the school. We have had heavy rain, but everything is OK at the moment…..’

We continue to hope that Nepal suffers no further flooding and that international aid is able to provide essential supplies to those affected by this disaster.
