Updates (the big one!)
Published on March 28, 2026 by Joe Allen

Hello all, we're back for 2026 and with 12 months of learning under our belt from when we first set up we're constantly shifting and working out ways to improve and grow.

WHERE ARE WE AT CURRENTLY?The Rogue Creators Fund currently has 34 members, thank you all for being one of them!

Obviously with only 34 of us it takes a little while for the contributions to compile to the point we can create the impact we'd like to have. So our big focus for the year is to grow our membership and turn the Rogue Creators Fund into something you can be really proud to be part of!

INTRODUCING THE COMMITTEE
As part of growing the Rogue Creators' Fund and turning it into the force for local good we know it can be we've formed a committee to oversee the running of the group and ensure consistency with posting and operations. Our new committee members are:
• Tyler Pickles
• Emily Sylvia
• Eleanor Rose Stevie
• Tom Houghton (continuing committee member)
• Joe Allen (continuing committee member)

TRANS/LATE selected as the recipient of our Round 1.0 donation! In October, we completed our first ever round of the Rogue Creators' Fund. Applicants submitted through our instagram page and then you, our members, voted on the successful applicant using our ranked vote system! (after a few teething errors with our voting form design - more on that later!)
The results from this were that TRANS/LATE were selected to receive the £250 donation (aka Rogue Creators' Fund).

About TRANS/LATE:

"Trans/Late is a high energy, trans-forward, community-first cabaret show based in York and created by Queer Affaire and Haus of Lynx.
Part performance, part dance party, all fundraiser for gender affirming care, our shows provide a space for new and seasoned performers to debut their ideas, host stalls for local queer and trans artists, and donate all profits toward gender affirming care in the local area!
Details about our next event in January coming soon! And keep your eyes peeled for our next round of performer applications...!! You can keep tabs on all future updates by following @queeraffaire and @haus_of_lynx :)"

ROUND 2.0 launches in April and...thanks to your continuous support and membership we already know Round 3.0 will take place in June! Thank you, truly!

The team are currently busy building our application and voting system based on feedback from Round 1.0 and then we'll be ready to hit the ground running.

Both of these rounds are for £250 each. More info on applying coming soon in our next newsletter and on our social media - @roguecreatorsfund
Spread the word with RCF Flyers:We've now got printed flyers to help spread the word about Rogue Creators' Fund - if you'd be interested in collecting some to help spread the word then please reply 'FLYER' to this email and we can arrange to drop some off with you. (Flyers are also available to collect from Patch York on Thursday afternoons 1pm-4pm - i'll be on the front desk so just come say hi!)

That's the big update!! Hope you're all well and thank you for being part of our community!

Joe

Hi, well done this sounds fantastic and it's very exciting that two more rounds are coming. I have just posted on LinkedIn for you. Regarding the members voting, I may have missed it but I don't remember seeing anything about a vote? Please can you tell me how I receive comms about the voting for the next round and which platform you will be communicating via?

Thanks, Louise

Hi Louise

Thank you!

All voting information goes out via email - it’s the email linked to your contribution on this platform. This is also how we directly communicate with all members.

We recently sent an email to our members on 28th March with the subject ‘Round 2.0 & Round 3.0!!’ - hopefully that is in your inbox somewhere. As far as I can see on our end, you’re on our members mailing  list. If the email is not in inbox/junk then please drop me an email to [email protected] to let me know / reply here and I’ll pick it up and see what’s going on.

All our public communication is predominantly via Instagram & LinkedIn.

Thanks for your support,
Joe
